The Plymouth Renewable Energy facility began commercial operation in February 1992 for the Waste System Authority of Eastern Montgomery County, Pennsylvania which controls the waste flow for 24 municipalities. The Facility processes approximately 1,216 tons per day of municipal solid waste, generating greater than 32 megawatts of renewable energy sold to Exelon. The Facility is equipped with a water cooled turbine-generator condenser used to convert steam to water for continuous cycling of water through the boilers.
